Class Overview

This one day, nine hour CERTIFICATION hands-on training workshop will focus on pertinent Pathophysiology, anatomy and physiology of the skin. Introduction to the integumentary system and the functions of the skin as well as how to conduct a comprehensive client history, effective skin analysis and create a treatment plan that is right for your client���s skin type using the Fitzpatrick system.

Focus will be placed on the different types of Chemical Peels available: Jessner���s, MFA���s, Vitamin A Acid, Glycolic, Lactic, Salicylic, TCA and others. The afternoon session will be devoted to intensive hands-on training. We will explore ways to bridge the medical and aesthetic fields to promote a soothing, calming, conducive environment for successful treatments.

Learning Objectives

• Anatomical structures of the integumentary system
• Physiologic functions of the integumentary system
• Discuss endogenous and exogenous factors affecting skin integrity
• Identify safety issues, complications and precautions associated with chemical peels and microdermabrasion
• Discuss treatment indications and contraindications for various skin conditions
• Develop individualized care plans / treatment protocols
• Discuss differences between Cosmeceutical skin care and over the counter skin care products
• Perform a chemical peel treatment

Certification is provided upon completion of the course. All medical professionals will receive a course manual, supporting forms and templates on a disc, H/P, consent, policy and procedures.
